Pauline Rogers was born on November 4, 1909 in Gardner, West Virginia. She married Dr. Wilbur White "Doc" Stout in 1936 and moved with him to Mississippi Southern College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 1944. In 1965 she became the research and editorial assistant to the president of the university. After her retirement in 1977, she continued to serve part-time until 1994.
